The Reef

Hi, my name is LuXuRyReef

I would like to share with you my new project. The machinery is out of the house to enjoy the aquarium at 100%.

We’ve used ZEOVIT system, the best system to exist on the market :p, and we used 14-days cycling to start the aquarium.

After a tricky cycling with a little brown cyano (or dinoglagellates, we’re not sure because we haven’t looked at this under a microscope), at 15 days was all ok. There wasn’t cyano thanks to the use of ZEObak, Zeozym, snow and a bit of biomate.

On the 11th day we introduced some animals to check everything was ok (the zero day we introduced live rock with a snail also, which survived the cycling) and everything was ok. The 18th day, we noticed a drop in kh (using Ca reactor from the 5th day)

On the 16th day we introduced all animals and after that, we haven't introduced anything more. Now, in the 24th day, we have noticed some outbreaks of red cyano, but we think that we can control that hopefully.

The urn has the following measures: 180x70x60. The lamp are 20 tubes of 39 W Ati (pinks distort much).

The equipment comprises:

- supermarine BK-250 skimmer
- Ca-reactor BM 6 kg with 2nd camera for Mg 1.5 kg
- Zeolites BM-reactor
- 2 Tunze 6095 pumps of movement, controlled by ProfiLux
- ProfiLux 3 ex-(t °, cos, ph1, ph2, redox, etc.)
- T5 x 20-39W  lamp
- Cooler Hailea 300
-  5 Stage Reverse Osmosis

The only thing different we do now is that the salt is changed everytime that hub of 25 kg is spent , we use 100 micron sock and perlon.

The starting is made with live sand and live rock (22 kg). We have to introduce 20 kg more; we didn't before because we had problems with our distributor.

I hope you enjoy with photos and especially thanks to Pascu for his photographic feature.

Greetings.
